WIAW #74: Island Style!

I went on vacation over break (my first time to a tropical island) so here are some pics from lovely St. Maarten and some of my snacks and eats on the island!

Interspersed with island pics, of course.

Like me showing of my Love Grown love in St. Maarten. Love Grown granola = sooooo good.

Peas and Crayons

I'll let the photos speak for themselves, for the most part.

On vacation I like mixing grocery store eats with restaurant eats.

Pizza tastes better by the beach.

And beans taste better with bars.

About the pizza? Actually, everything tastes better with a beach view.

St. Maarten is stunning.

A week wasn't enough, I never wanted to leave!

Did you know that rice in a salt shaker prevents clumping in a humid climate? Fun fact!

The road were a bit bumpy, but that's okay.

I discovered a cool speculoos bread spread! But it wasn't as good as I'd hoped.

The beaches were even better than I'd hoped.

The water was the most beautiful blue I'd ever seen.

Eating breakfast at a beach front restaurant is THE. BEST. THING. EVER.

My oh so nutritious cocoa krispies :P

Ice cream is mandatory, y'all!

I discovered lots of different yummy combos - have you ever tried fried wasabi peas on ice cream? Soooo good.

I love the crunchy-creamy, spicy-sweet combo.

There was a Hard Rock Cafe near our hotel.

I'd never been to one before, but the Christmas tree was great and they were pretty good about takeout!

Though the salad ended up seeming to have more cheese than veggies - under the top layer of veggies, there's just cheese, cheese, and more cheese. Can I have some veggies with that, please?

Fried wasabi peas are a new fave in everything from ice cream to granola!

Chocolate and prunes and speculoos spread on bread is a surprisingly tasty combo.

I love eating cereal with some crunchy peanut butter.

And though I tend to prefer my water plain, this Eboost was a pretty color!

The pomegranate acai flavor wasn't too bad, either.

I'm back from St. Maarten (so sad) but there are nice things here, too - like holidays! It may only be the end of the January, but the stores are already going crazy for Valentine's Day.

Dancing Deer has you covered with a great Valentine's Day gift for your loved one.

The Be My Valentine Gift Box retails for $26.99 and includes four delicious Chocolate Chunk Brownies, eight soft and spicy Molasses Clove Cookies, and three individually wrapped Heart Cookies with icing and sprinkles.

As with all of their baked goods, these Valentine's Day treats are all-natural and made with an emphasis on pure, high quality ingredients.

The brownies are delightfully chocolatey and soft (but with a nice, crackly top). They're rich, but with a  light, fluffy texture. And I love the chocolate chunks throughout!

My mom said they were the best brownies she's ever eaten.

The molasses cookies are soft, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweet.

The heart cookies are a real treat, especially for kids - they're super cute, but they're also quite tasty vanilla sugar cookies!

I really liked that they added lemon (I think just in the icing) it added a nice teensy bit of tart that enhanced the enjoyment of the sweetness.

One of the best part about the Dancing Deer Be My Valentine Gift Box is that you can order it online and have it shipped directly to a loved one who's further away - like a daughter at college (hint, hint).

Dancing Deer is also giving away a Be My Valentine Gift Box to one lucky LLE reader! Enter through the Rafflecopter widget below.
