3 Ways to Shift Your Energy Immediately

Ever have one of those days where everything irritates you? It's almost as if there's a domino effect of shit rippling through your world and nothing can stop it? Well I've got 3 ways you can shift your energy in less than 5 minutes. And you don't even have to drink a martini (unless, of course, you want to).

1. Sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes, and take a series of deep breaths. Breathe deeply and slowly, drawing your breath into your belly. It sounds simple, but when our body is in an anxious state, we tend to take shallow breaths, making us more antsy. Breathing deeply sends oxygen to our brains so we can feel more calm and centered.

2. Think of something or someone you love. It could be your kids, your husband, your job -- whatever it is that brings you joy. Get a mental image of this person or thing that brings you happiness and focus on it for a minute or two.

3. Move. Get up and walk to a different room or walk outside if you can. By moving to a different space, you immediately shift your energy.

And if all else fails, remember this: "this too shall pass." The more we beat ourselves up, the worse we feel. Tomorrow is another day :)
