Friday Foodie Finds #17 - Halloween Edition

Happy (almost) Halloween, everyone!

It's always a bummer when Halloween falls in the middle of the week, but you just have to make up for it on the surrounding weekends.

In case you won't be getting a chance to go trick-or-treating, you don't have to miss out on candy. Ross Chocolates (I reviewed their yummy sugar-free chocolate the other day) is having a 2 week fall sale on their website, selling their bars for as little as 99 cents each! Check it out :)

Since this is the last Friday before Halloween, this Friday Foodie Finds is all about spooky treats you can share with your friends and family!

I like how customizable this one is - and I love the cereal! And candy corn :) Everyone seems to hate candy corn, I don't get it. They're sugary deliciousness and definitely a taste of fall!

Since the recipes this Friday have been overwhelmingly sweet, I'll treat you to the (rare) savory food review!

As you know, I'm more of a sweet than a savory person. But a lot of people (including my sister and dad) really like chips - they're crunchy, can come conveniently packaged in individual packets, and don't require effort to prepare. A lot of chips, however, come without much nutritional benefit and are thus best left as a now-and-then food, instead of a daily snack.

The Better Chip (which some of you may remember from my Momables post in my Healthy Lunchbox Series this past August) is different. Made of 40% fresh vegetables and 100% non-GMO, gluten-free, and nut-free, these all-natural chips are healthy enough to eat every day.

The Better Chip currently comes in four varieties:

There's Red Pepper and Salsa Fresca, Fresh Corn and Sea Salt, Jalepeno and Sea Salt, and Sweet Onion and White Cheddar.

So you have an idea of what's in it, here's the ingredients list for the red pepper chips:

They're very crunch and fresh (no stale chips here) and there are visible flecks of veggies in each chip, as you can see here in the Jalepeno chips. Yes, those green bits are jalepenos. YES, it's spicy.

They're just the right amount of salty, perfectly crunchy, and packed full of flavor.

In fact, I think that they could go a bit lighter on the seasoning, especially for the red pepper chips. There was a lot of chili pepper on those and my lips were tingling like crazy afterwards!

Have you tried The Better Chip?

Do you have any Halloween plans?

How old were you the last time you went trick or treating?
