It's October! And it's the weekend! Wherever you are (as long as you're in the northern hemisphere, of course) I'd say it's pretty safe to say that fall is probably well in swing by now.
While shortening fall days tend to be busier than the long, lazy days of summer, fall can be such a beautiful season, that it would just be a pity to miss out on what the season has to offer. Like jumping in piles of leaves, carving pumpkins, and enjoying leisurely breakfasts on the porch (if you have one - otherwise, by a window will do).
I like PB&Js for breakfast, or yogurt-granola bowls with nut butters, dried fruits, jams, and all sorts of other mix-ins.
St. Dalfour is a French jam, marmelade, and fruit conserve company whose spreads are readily available in the USA.
They have a bunch of different jams, marmalades, etc. and they even make tea! I tried a few of their 100% fruit spreads (aren't the mini sample jars adorable?), which are just sweetened with fruit juice.
In addition to the regular jam flavors that come to mind (mixed berry, strawberry, blueberry, grape, etc.) they have a bunch of really unique flavors - like Red Raspberry & Pomegranate and Kumquat Marmalade!
I'd never had Kumquat marmalade (or Kumquat anything?) before, but it was a clear favorite! I love how there was a generous amount of candied rind in the marmalade (I'm all about texture) and it had a really strong, unique flavor that worked well with almond butter for afresh take on the old school PB&J.
The pomegranate-raspberry is a close second! It's a really tasty flavor combo :)
All of the spreads were very flavorful, easy to spread, and free of weird aftertastes. Their healthy ingredients make them a great choice for breakfast and I like how they were pure fruit. They were plenty sweet enough without refined sugar!
